((psssst hi. You guys should know how these babies work by now, but if you don't, here we goooo:

Missing something? Looking for something? Just want to chat? Make a thread! If you want to do any "Kyle and Your Character Go On a Totally Awesome Journey to Find a Thing" type of adventures, you can start a thread here and then take it to the logs community. His office is in the same area as all of the teachers' offices, and it's a pretty typical layout. IT EVEN HAS. A CHAIR. FOR YOU TO SIT IN. It's kind of messy and there are boxes of unclaimed stuff all over the place, though. dude is that a typewriter in the corner who uses typewriters any more ANYWAY. I'm going to assume all threads are private unless you make an indication that you want folks to walk in on the conversation. His office is open from about 12 AM to 8 PM shut up he's not a morning person.

You guys can make threads dated anywhere from June 18th to July 2nd. Make an indication of the date somewhere in your first post and you're good to go!))

The door swung open dramatically, as Otacon barged into the Lost and Found room.

"Kyle!" he called out to his friend (who is totally his friend, okay). "Something has been stolen from my room!"

JESUS, OTACON, YOU ALMOST GAVE HIM A HEART ATTACK for about a second.

"Stolen?" He frowned at Otacon in disbelief. "I didn't think anybody wanted those Captain Jupiter cartoons or whatever you call them."

"Eternity Warriors M - Beautiful Princess-Priestess Melemele-chan, you mean," the scientist correctly quickly. "And it's anime, not cartoons. Cartoons come from the west, anime is from Japan..." and off he went. A few minutes later, he concluded..."and that's why it's better to get them subbed instead of dubbed."

"In any case, I had something even more previous than my anime collection stolen. It's..it's...a Gundam figurine. Original. In its box."

He was going to cry. Oh mint-in-the box Gundam figurine, he was going to find you baaaw.

Kyle just kind of sat and made a halfhearted attempt at trying to pay attention. Somewhere between 'animu' and 'the pros and cons of Melemele-chan's henshin-a-go-go-dance' he... Tuned out for a while. He only dozed off for about a minute. "Huh? Yeah. Dub. Right. Sure."

Oh, come on, Otacon. You're not really going to cry over a... ...a thing. Are you? "Alright, alright, calm down. I'll find your... ...What's a gundam?"

"This!" Otacon explained, opening his computer and showing Kyle an image. "It was still in the box, this one had moving body parts, could light up and had sound effects." He was mumbling a little. It was such a horrid loss, you see.

"There's only a hundred of them in the entire world!"

"Hey bras!" a sly voice came from outside the door. Ganondorf Dragmire leaned on the door, his arms clearly holding a box with a hell of a lot of japanese kanji. He idly spin it around in the air.

"Is this the droid you're looking for?"

"Heh, sorry couldn't hear you over that high-pitched voice of yours, nerd." He made it disappear with a few hand motions.

"Tell you what. You two try to catch me and maybe I'll let you have it back intact. His feet hovered about the ground. "Don't and I'm going to put that thing into a trash compacter."

And with that, he took off to the nearest school exit.

Welp, somehow he was not surprised at all. Confused, sure, but it wasn't like he could come up with anyone else to point fingers at. Busted window? Ganondorf. Missing animawhatsit toy... thing? Ganondorf. Stubbed toe? Ganondorf. Something about the whole thing seemed a little... off, but if that box had so much as a scratch on it he probably wouldn't hear the end of it ever.

Sorry Otabutt did you say something Kyle was already out the door and chasing after Ganondorf He shrugged and followed him until he kind of realized that he was tailing a magical douchebag who could and probably would disappear any time he wanted to.

Not to mention the fact that Otacon's endurance when it came to running was very very low. Still, he put up a valiant effort for his ultra-awesome-special Gundam figurine, managing to get outside before he had to stop to breathe.

"He's...floating away!" he said, pointing to the winking Gerudo King.

Quick what could they use ahhh.

"There's a bike here, let's go!"

...Ganondorf did you really just wink. That's weird on so many levels. ...Speaking of weird.

"A bike?" A bike. Oh for crying out loud--

It was a tandem bike. The only thing that could make it worse would be if it was pink or something jesus christ He stared at it for a while. And stared. And frowned disapprovingly.

Before Otacon started whining or something for staring for so long, he finally... got on the bike. In the most 'this is the worst ever Otacon if you ever speak of this again I am going to beat you up' way he could manage.

It's not like he cared about dignity or anything else when a precious, precious figurine was involved. With the strength carrying him on, he jumped at the back of the bike as they both started to peddle away at the laughing floating man.

This lasted for about a good three (THREE! A NEW RECORD) minutes before Otacon suddenly let out a "I can't do this much longer, Kyle!" breathing like he'd just run the marathon. Worse, even! Without much air, he tried to push a little more and...woops, there went the bike. And Otacon. And Kyle.

"Oh come on YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME--" Aaaaand down went the bike, both men along with it.

He wrestled his way out from under the wreckage (all right, just a bike and an Otacon), grumbling and cursing the whole time. Kyle dusted himself off and then begrudgingly helped Mr. My-Animes-Are-Sooooo-Important a hand. "Got any more brilliant plans, Einstein?"

He certainly did not, because a few minutes later the detective turned lost-and-found...man was being ushered into the cockpit of a giant robot. A very deadly-looking giant robot.

"He better still be out there." Otacon muttered as he sat down and pressed a few buttons, more concerned about his figurine than if Kyle was alright with this. The other man had been silent (probably from shock) the entire time, so Otacon just took it that he was PERFECTLY FINE.

"Hold on tight!"

The machine sprang to life.

AND SCREECHED.

Yeah, he was speechless, all right. If Otacon had ever bothered to turn around every now and then he gets a little bit lonely and ffgjfgghahahaha instead of just dragging him along by the arm, he might have seen the look on Kyle's face.

It wasn't a very good one.

It was somewhere between 'I've got a bad feeling about this' and 'I think I'd rather get back on the bike.' He was kind of unceremoniously shoved into the cockpit of some kind of... giant... robot... this really wasn't agreeing with him at all.

The THING lurched and screeched and he toppled over. "WHAT THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING!?"

"G-Getting back what's mine!" the scientist scowled, not paying much attention to the poor soul he had asked for help in the fist place (sorry Kyle), and making sure that his mecha was operating properly. He hadn't had time to test it after all.

But there was a figurine on the line.

His most prized one.

Mint.

In the Box.

With the power of a Gundam song playing in his head, Otacon grasped the controls and didn't let go. He could do this once again.

Tachiagare
Tachiagare
Tachiagare GANDAMU!

The machine advanced from his position and followed the floating man in a not too shabby manner.

(don't you dare lie Otacon you're not sorry at all) He was really not a technical guy. At all. He... No really Kyle is pretty much the anti-Otacon when it comes to newfangled technology. It's a wonder he can work a microwave oven, let alone a computer and he, for one, certainly did not welcome the idea of standing inside a giant robot with open arms. Watch it, Otacon, there isn't much to hold on to here Kyle might just have to accidentally throttle you.

What the hell was he mumbling under his breath, anyway? Was he... singing a theme song? ...Whatever. He shouted something over all the mechanical noise and it sounded a lot like "THIS IS ONE OF YOUR DUMBEST IDEAS YET."

Dumber than the bottle of "squeeze bacon" eating a hole in the corner of Kyle's pantry? Probably, yes.

The squeezable bacon was the eight wonder of the world, you just didn't know it, Kyle. Or you hadn't tried the bacon on real bacon, it was just soooo bacontastic, Kyle.

Otacon, covered one of his ears when the ex-detective went off and off loudly about what a dumb idea this was. Yeah, this was certainly not his crowning achievement, but there was a figuring on the line! Kyle, you didn't understand how important this thing was to him. IT WAS MINT.

MINT!

"H-Hey" he protested not-as-loudly back. "At least it seems to be working. We're catching up!"

June 29- What? Someone coming to bother Kyle? Unheard of.
[info]nursebirdo
2009-06-29 10:55 pm UTC (link)
No, Birdo hadn't lost anything. Nor did she particularly need to see Kyle for any sage advice, or to root through the boxes of who-knows what, or for whatever else people might have needed him for. To be fair, she hadn't even come here on purpose. The nurse had been wandering through the halls with no real aim when she came across a slightly opened door that she'd never really bothered looking into before, and when, on a closer look, she saw Kyle sitting at his desk, she figured why not? It was always a good time to get acquainted with one's colleagues.

"Hello? I hope you're not too busy, dear. Do you mind if I take a minute of your time?"

And then Kyle was like "Hellooooo, nurse" and then Birdo hit him. Probably with something heavy. WELL, MISS BIRDO, YOU'RE IN LUCK. It's not like he ignores people just passing by (especially the ladies I mean what no) uh... much.

"Nah, go ahead."

Catherine grinned, and walked further into the room, not bothering to close the door, and proceeded to make herself comfortable.

"Again, I'm sorry if I'm butting into any time that could otherwise be productive, but I'd just realized that I don't think I'd ever spoken to you before." The nurse continued as if this was perfectly normal workplace behavior, barging into a perfect stranger's office, and striking up a chat. Of course, to her, it probably seemed as normal as any of the other things she does.
"And I just thought how much of a pity that was, that I should be working with someone so handsome and not even know his name." What, Catherine? hitting on people? Never.

What, no, of course not. That would be silly. It'd be even sillier if Kyle did something like, say, return the favor.

"The name's Kyle Hyde. What's a dame like you doing in a dump like this, anyway?" Aww yeah he was totally suave maybe on a different planet.
